Because ABS has placed no limit on the type of buildings we construct we are proud to say we have many commercial and retail buildings in our repertoire. Office Buildings, doctor’s offices, grocery stores, banks, quick shops, restaurants, motorcycle sales, shopping malls and more. Whether design/build or hard bid, we have successfully completed our share of commercial and retail development projects.

Institutional

ABS has performed as clerk-of-the-works for many school projects in the Berks County Area. We performed general construction work on both private and public owned institutional buildings. This is also a viable market for our construction management division. Because of the growing population of Berks County, institutional buildings are consistently being built, renovated and expanded.

Advanced Building Systems’ metal building supplier is Varco-Pruden, known as VP Buildings. Pricing for any type of design metal building is readily available through proprietary software furnished by VP. We can efficiently develop a metal building to meet your needs.

Fast Track Construction

This is a method of construction management involving a continuous design-construct operation. Construction work starts before final plans and specifications are complete. For example, excavation may start before superstructure plans and details are finished. Many of our design/build projects are fast track construction. 

Industrial

Industrial buildings always present a challenge. Each industry has special needs. Depending on the operation being performed within the building, there may be special requirements (i.e. overhead cranes, computer rooms, temperature and dust controlled areas, electrical work, piping for transporting various gases or liquids, etc.) ABS has the experience and the capability of furnishing the special features required for any type of industrial building.

Building Additions

Many of the buildings ABS has constructed have been designed with future expansion in mind. Additions are also the answer for companies needing more space while remaining at their existing location. Over the years many of our most successful projects have been “building additions”. A building addition can solve two problems; it updates the appearance of the original building and provides more space at a reasonable price.

Building Erection of Wood or Metal Frame Structures

We have experience in both wood and metal frame structures. There are advantages to both and ABS listens to the need of our clients and recommends the structure best suited for their particular building need.

Renovations

Renovating a building can help alleviate the need for a new building or a complete addition. Renovation is also desirable when a building is purchased and changes need to be made to accommodate the new owner. A renovation project can be very challenging. Design is the key to a successful renovation project and we develop the project with the owner and our design team to create the best possible use of the available space.

All Building Trade Services Provided

In our general construction division we subcontract all trade services. Since 1986 we have had the opportunity of working with many subcontractors and we know which subs are best suited for each building we construct. We also know which subs give quality work at a reasonable price. It is our job to give our clients the building they want through quality workmanship at the best price possible.
